STATEMENT No. 2 of “GOLOS” Association

From the beginning of January 2008 “GOLOS” Association held a long-term monitoring of Presidential campaign in 38 regions of Russian Federation (Moscow, Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kostroma, Tver, Vladimir, Orlel and Ryazan regions, Saint-Peterburg, Pskov, Velikiy Novgorod regions, Republic of Karelia, Kaliningrad, Arhangelsk, Samara, Volgograd, Kursk regions, Chuvash Republic, Ulyanovsk region, Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodarskiy kray, Stavropolskiy kray, Republic of Adygeya, Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan regions, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Chelyabinsk, Perm regions, Republic of Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk region, Republic of Mariy-El, Novosibirsk region, Altayskiy kray, Irkutsk, Omsk, Tomsk regions, Primorskiy kray)

During long-term observation period “GOLOS” central office received 127 reports from regional representatives. The form of reports allowed estimating the general course of electoral process in each region and carrying out an overall qualitative and quantitative analysis of information that was received from regions. Results of statistical analysis of this information cannot be considered representative for all of the country, however they reflect separate aspects of pre-election campaign in each region and the general nature of the campaign on the territory which “GOLOS” covers in its work
